Where is your Studio? Do you photograph on location?

Our Durham Region Pet Photography studio is located at 188 Mary St., Suite C in Port Perry, Ontario encompassing the building’s lower level. We photograph your pets in studio, in your home, at the beach, the farm, the cottage, the park or anywhere your pet is most comfortable. We travel to Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, Scugog, Uxbridge, and Brock. Locations outside of Durham Region incur a travel fee. Inquire for details.

What are your hours?

We are currently booking in studio sessions weekday evenings beginning at 5:30pm and weekends 10am-6pm. Sessions are booked by appointment only.

How long does a session take?

The length of time depends on how many pets and people and the the co-operation of all involved. Typically a studio session lasts one hour and on location lasts an hour and a half.

Do I have to stay during the session?

Yes. For safety reasons and your pet will feel more comfortable knowing you are close. Some pets respond only to commands of their humans. We also rely on you to show us the tricks your pet knows.

Can our family be in the images?

Yes. We love incorporating families with their pets. If you require hair and makeup for your session please let us know in advance so we can secure a HMUA.

What do we need to bring to the session?

Bring your pets, treats, props, a pet brush, and a positive attitude. Our studio has a relaxed atmosphere. There is no pressure for your pet to perform. We like to keep things light and fun. and we have endless patience. Please give your pet a quick brush and wipe their faces before the session begins.

Do our clothes need to match?

Matching outfits create cleaner images but are not necessary. We recommend that everyone wears the same colour tones. If someone wants to wear something white or bright everyone should wear the same.

Do you provide treats?

Due to possible allergies we recommend you bring your pets’ favourite treats, Small chewy treats are better than larger, dry biscuits to prevent crumbs in the images. We try to work with toys and sounds to coax expressions from your pet but understand some pets are only treat motivated.

Can we bring our own toys and props?

Yes. If your pets have a special toy or you want to bring cute clothing accessories we’re glad to incorporate those into your images.

What are your prices?

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. To reserve your session we require 50% of the session fee at the time of booking. The balance is due the date of your session. We require 50% of your products order at the time of ordering and the balance is due prior to delivery. Deposits are non-refundable.

Can I pay by credit card?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover using our square reader, as well as cash, and e-transfers.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

With a minimum of 6 hours notice we will allow you to reschedule your session one time only. If poor weather happens the day of your on location session we will be happy to reschedule. If you fail to show up for your session your deposit is forfeited and we will not reschedule your appointment. If you are going to be late a courtesy call is appreciated. Lateness will shorten your session time if we have appointments scheduled after yours..

How long before we see/get our images?

Your reveal appointment will take place 7-10 days after your initial session. We will review the images and this is when you will make your purchase selections. Delivery of your prints, albums and wall art takes 3-6 weeks depending on what is ordered. We request that all decision makers be present at the viewing.

Can I have the digital files?

You will receive the digital image of each purchased printed image. Digital images can be purchased for the entire gallery. We do not sell individual digital files; see pricing page.

Do you offer Gift Certificates?

Yes in any denomination you require. Gift certificates come with an envelope.

How far in advance should I book?

We suggest booking as early as possible especially if you want Christmas sessions/gifts.

Do I need to sign a contract?

All clients are required to sign a model release stating that we retain all rights to the images. We do not photograph anyone who does not sign the release form. Exceptions are only made for foster children who cannot be published online.

Do you give refunds?

All session fees, print orders and gift certificates are non refundable. If there is a problem with your print order we will replace defective orders. For this reason we do not ship direct to our customers. Orders must be picked up from our studio. Gift certificates are transferrable should the intended recipient not be able to use the gift.
